Is KONVOY a replacement for 911?
No. If it’s an emergency, always call 911 immediately. A KONVOY Check is a professional at-home safety visit purpose-built to fill the gap between concern and 911—when you simply need clarity about what’s happening with your loved one.
Who performs a KONVOY Check?
Every KONVOY Specialist is a vetted, off-duty first responder. Each has a minimum of 5 years experience and is based in Westchester County. The same professionals you trust in a crisis are now available to provide private, in-person safety visits with empathy and respect.
What information do I receive after a check?
After every check, you’ll receive a confidential bodycam video + assessment on your phone, giving you clear, first hand confirmation of what’s happening with your loved one. The information you receive is private and you exclusively own it.
What happens if my loved one doesn't answer the door?
You choose. The KONVOY Specialist will either leave a door hanger telling your loved one to contact you ASAP; or you can request a 911 response in the event there is no answer. If there are obvious signs of distress, the Specialists will act in accordance with their training.
How quickly can I schedule a check?
KONVOY Checks are available 7 AM–7 PM, 365 days a year. Currently, the minimum time frame to request a check is two hours. You can also schedule up to 30 days ahead.
Does my loved one need an app or smartphone?
No. You create the KONVOY account and request the check. Your loved one doesn’t need to download an app or use any special technology.
Is signup free? How much does a check cost?
Creating an KONVOY account is free, with no subscription or commitment. A standard KONVOY Check is $100 plus a $20 service fee. An additional $80 fee applies if the Specialist calls 911. They will remain on-site for the entirety of the 911 response and communicate clear information about your loved one’s status.
